Mike Cornell
Prior to starting Incline Innovation,
Mike Cornell was a founding partner of Strategos, a global strategy
and innovation services firm led by Gary Hamel. From 1995 to 2002
Mike led a wide range of projects for clients including Applied
Materials, Intuit Software, Visio (now a part of Microsoft), Cadence,
Ashland Chemicals, SAP America, as well as Celebration Health and
El Camino Hospital. Mike was formerly with Gemini Consulting, where
he was a principal in the firm's strategy practice. Mike began his
consulting career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers)
in 1986.
Mike has over fifteen years of consulting and strategy experience
centered on helping companies with issues of strategy, corporate
development, business model innovation and business planning. He
currently is focusing his work on accelerated insight and strategy
development for aggressive growth companies in high technology and
health care, with a particular emphasis on working with teams and
organizations that seek thoughtful insight quickly on pressing issues
and opportunities.
Mike's article, "Going around the Bend: Rethinking the Strategy
Development Process in Technology Companies," appeared in Upside
magazine. Additionally, he was a contributing consultant for "Proceeding
in Daylight: Frontier Practices for Challenging Strategic Assumptions"
published by the Corporate Executive Board. Other articles have
appeared in Communications Week and on ZDNet.
Mike holds an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA
and an undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon.
